Description of Goods and services

A description of the goods and services is set out in our website and any other literature referred to in our website. Whilst we will attempt to ensure that there are no changes to the goods to be supplied, it is possible that there might be some minor variations to the description and/or specification of the goods which arise by virtue of changes made by the manufacturers of the parts supplied which form part of the goods. Whilst all care is taken during the photography and editing of the images the actual colour may vary slightly from that shown due to differences in monitor/LCD characteristics.

Guarantee

We want you to be completely satisfied with the goods you receive. If for any reason you are not entirely pleased we will provide you with a refund or replacement. Please see our returns policy for details. The Ashoka Spice Shop cannot be held responsible for goods lost or damaged in any way in transit.

Delivery Schedule

We aim to despatch the goods within 72 hours of receiving your order and we will send you an email confirming that the despatch has taken place.

The standard method of delivery in the UK is by Parcel Post, delivery takes about 4-5 days from the date of despatch.

Postage and packaging will be £2.95 for the first item, and then 85p for each additional item.

Deliveries to Europe use International Standard mail (except for parcels under 2Kg which uses Airmail Small Packets post). Delivery target times (shortest postal time) will vary depending on the EU postal zone.

  • EU Postal Zone 5 - Ireland (Eire) - 3-5 working days
  • EU Postal Zone 6 - Belgium, Netherland and Luxembourg - 3-8 working days
  • EU Postal Zone 7 - France, Germany and Denmark - 3-8 working days
  • EU Postal Zone 8 - Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece - 4-8 working days
  • EU Postal Zone 9 - Rest Of Europe - 5-12 working days

Please note: Allow 72 hours for processing in addition to the postal times above for International orders.

If your item is not in stock, we will email you with the option to cancel or wait for stock to arrive.

Tax Charges

Foodstuffs are zero rated for VAT purposes.

Credit Card Security

Secure Ordering: All orders are taken over 128bit encrypted connections. Before being asked for payment our site will change to our secure server and your Internet Browser will show the secure padlock.

Accepted Payment methods

  • All prices are in UK pounds.
  • We currently debit money from your account within 48 hours after we have received your order through our payment process.
  • You may pay by any major credit card or debit card (UK only) .
  • You may also pay by cheque or postal order if you wish, instructions for this are emailed to you after your order has been placed. We will release goods on cleared funds only.
  • If your delivery address is outside the UK and you order online you must pay by credit card.

Privacy Policy

We do not disclose buyers' information to third parties. Data collected by this site is used to:

  1. Take and fulfill customer orders
  2. Administer and enhance the site and service
  3. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes

Returns Policy

  • Returned Goods will only be accepted if received within 14 days of shipment delivery to the customer.
  • A handling and management charge of 10% will be deducted from the value of return.
  • The return postage must be covered by the customer.
  • Goods will only be accepted if the product(s) seal has not been tampered with in anyway and is in its original packaging.
  • The customer details must be clearly displayed and a reason for the return must also be clearly displayed.
  • A copy of the original invoice must also be sent with the returned product.

All goods advertised for sale on the site are subject to availability. If an item that you wish to order is unavailable, we shall inform you by email or phone. The reason for unavailability is usually because we are awaiting deliveries from our suppliers.

We shall not charge you for goods that we cannot supply for any reason. However, we will not be responsible for any damage or losses that you may suffer if we fail to supply goods. We have attempted to display all the goods on the site as accurately and fairly as possible, taking account of the available reproduction techniques that apply to website design, graphical and photographic technology.

If you have notified us of a problem with the goods, we will replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective upon delivery; or refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question. We will not be liable to you for any administrative inconvenience, disappointment, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising out of any problem in relation to the goods and we shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than any refund we make under these conditions.

This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. We shall not be liable for any errors made by you when entering details online. We shall have no liability to you for any failure or delay in supply or delivery or for any damage or defect to goods supplied or delivered hereunder that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control (including, without limitation, strikes, lockouts and other industrial disputes.)

Goods purchased from our site are subject to United Kingdom Law. Nothing in these terms and conditions is to be taken to exclude or restrict any rights which applicable law grants to you in respect of such goods. Individual goods may be the subject of additional warranties or guarantees given by their manufacturers directly to you. We do not accept any responsibility and will not be liable for any damage to the goods caused by you. We shall not be liable to any person for any damage or loss that may arise from the use of any goods advertised on our site. Without prejudice to your statutory rights, all the information and materials contained in this site (including, without limitation, text, graphics and links) are provided on an "as is" basis with no warranty and in particular, we do not represent or warrant that the information accessible via this site is accurate, complete or current or that the use of this site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
